Got Jesus?
Do you know for sure you are going to be
with God in Heaven some day? If God asked you
“Why should
I let you into my heaven?”
What would you say? I have
really good news for you!
Heaven is a free gift. It is not something you work for or deserve.
The Bible says: “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift
of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23 KJV
What keeps us from getting this gift?
We all sin, and we cannot save ourselves.
What is Sin?
Sin is anything that we think, say, do, or don’t do, that does not please God. The Bible says, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”Romans 3:23 KJV The Bible also says, “Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.” Matt. 5:48 There must be a different way --
God’s Way!
God is loving, but God is also just. The Bible says, “God
is love.” I John 4:8b, yet “He will by no
means clear the guilty.” Exodus 34:7b KJV
On the one hand God loves us, and doesn’t want to punish us; but on the other hand God is just and He must punish sin. Do you see the problem?
God solved this problem by sending His Son Jesus. Jesus is God. He came from Heaven to earth. He lived a perfect life.
He died on the cross and rose from the dead, to pay the penalty for our sins and to purchase a place in Heaven for us.
The Bible says: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him will not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 KJV How do we get this gift of eternal life?
By Faith!
“Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved.” Acts 16:31
Saving faith is NOT just knowing about God in your head. Saving faith is not just temporary. Saving faith is trusting in Jesus Christ ALONE for our eternal life.
Does this make sense to you? Would you like to pray now to ask Jesus to forgive your sins and to give you the gift of eternal life? This means you want to trust in Jesus, turn from your sins and follow Him.
Pray this prayer:
“Dear Jesus, forgive my sins, and come into my life as my Lord and Savior. Amen.” Jesus says, “ …he who believes has everlasting life.” John 6:47b
If you just prayed that prayer and really meant it, Jesus Christ now lives in your heart! Not only that, but he has forgiven you of all your sin. The Bible tells us, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9).
